Very easy to use and even vame with batteries, an extra bonus. I tested it against homecare nurse when they came out. Pretty close.
Only thing i was not happy about was the box it came in was cut up. Instructions had slices in it and the little storabe bag had slices. I am not sure if this was a new item or someones return. Either way, shame on a company to send a product out like that. Shipper package was in perfect shape.
Works easily, seems to be accurate and liked that it could be used multiple ways and purposes.
Works like a charm. As an RN who needed a thermometer to ensure I self check each a.m. before my shift, I needed reliability - this product delivered.
I needed a non-contact thermometer for an athletic facility. I'm not sure why I selected this thermometer out of the many listed on Amazon. It looked like it was comfortable to hold (and it is). The readout looked like it was easy to read (and it is). I took my temperature many times, and it always showed 97.1 to 97.4 F, which is easily sufficient to differentiate healthy from feverish. I did not test the sensitivity of the hot or cold indicator lights or the memory function.
However, the instructions are terrible! There are two mini-documents that come with the device - instructions and a quick start guide. They differ in how to take your temperature. For instance, one says to touch your forehead (so they understand "non-contact?"), while the other says to hold the device about an inch from your forehead. This unit is to be used by over 100 people, so I experimented with it and wrote my own set of instructions.
When this particular unit arrived, I found it didn't beep when it's ready to read. I tried both manuals and some sequences of my own - no beep. As it turns out, it doesn't matter to me, but it will to some users.
Finally, I was unable to find any thermometer that has a hole through which I could connect a lanyard or chain so that the unit wouldn't go missing. I was able to find an open spot on the case and used Gorilla Glue to attach a metal chain. The thermometer is still easy to hold and work.
Seems like there are a lot of these thermometers on the market, all with mixed reviews. We've been using ours daily for a couple of months now during COVID and are very satisfied with it. It DOES require skin contact, so if used on multiple persons who may be infected, you need to disinfect between uses. Also, some reviewers mention inaccuracy. If you read the directions (which many people apparently do not), you'll notice that this device can easily be calibrated. So if you take your temperature with a standard oral thermometer, compare it with this reading several times, and find a discrepancy, you can re-calibrate it to match the average of your oral readings. Overall, I think this is a good value for the price.
